Jupiter&Saturn 19-7-22

Both Saturn & Jupiter imaged through thin High cloud on the 19-7-22 the thin cloud as introduced a lot of noise in the data. I found both images very difficult to process because of this. We have to take the rough with the smooth I suppose.

Hi martyn a good outcome for the conditions, still bringing out some good detail on Jupiter, & Saturn fairing even better, it was a difficult morning as i lost Saturn all together to cloud!

Again Martyn well done & nicely processed!

Nice captures Martyn. Looks like you made the most of the conditions on the 19th. Can see some structure on the GRS. Saturn looking good. Thin cloud will always mess with levels increasing gain Or slowing exposure. No doubt this is what happened  (Correct me if i am wrong ) which in turn often translates to more noise during sharpening with increasing gain. Not sure this is what you found. But that's usually the outcome. None the less you did well both in capture and processing. Both fine results

That top image has a strange effect as though it's falling away from you as you look at it, did you notice?

Hi Laurence glad you noticed it aswell. The minute I had finished processing it I rotated 180 degree's and thats when I noticed the strange effect. Thanks for commenting on this.

Hi Neil thats spot on, I was capturing at crawling pace on Saturn barely running above 21fps. I had to use a lot of smoothing in these images something I dont normaly do as a little bit of noise dont really bother me.
