Snowy ruin under many stars...

Recommended Posts

...Surrender Bridge Smelt Mill under the Seven Sisters and Auriga Milky Way.  A composite.  Canon 6D MkII, Sigma 50mm.  New lens to try and get 'lens compression' and relatively larger background.

Sky, from home, early hours Wednesday, tracked and stacked to bring out the sparse winter Milky Way.  2 panes, each 4 x 180s at f3.5, iso 800, single dark frame.  Foreground Friday evening, ~1km from home, too many light painted, 5s at f4.5 and iso 800.  Scaled and aligned to match a possible reality.  LR, Sequator, MS ICE, PS.   Cheers, Paul.  Better view when clicked.

Gorgeous, Paul. The sky looks fantastic and your light painting is just out of this world.

I do like these compressed shots. I’ve got one planned on my local windmill from 1km away with the Orion Nebula at 200mm, but I need to bag it in the next couple of weeks or it rises too early.

I think that starscape is breathtaking, even without the excellent foreground. The way all the clusters and nebula show up is wonderful

Thank you.   It is gorgeous.  I will try to get a huge Milky Way mosaic at 50mm!

Cheers,  Paul.
