Humid night but Jupiter still shone brightly through the haze. I took these images around 1 a.m. with my 180mm Mak, ASI 224MC using FireCapture, processed in Registax 6 and post-processed in Photoshop:

Very nice shots with the eye staring right back at us 👁

I often find a bit of haze in the sky can indicate good seeing conditions

Thanks, Craig. Yes, the seeing was very good despite the light haze. Before I started gathering data I didn't expect much from the night, but I was pleasantly surprised :)

Clear skies, my friend!

Nice captures Reggie.

Angie

Thanks, Angie. It wasn't the most transparent night but I was able to get some usable data. Jupiter looked great through the eyepiece, too :)

Yes nice captures. Always good to get the GRS. As Craig said those misty nights although they often mess with levels. Do often calm the air.

Thanks, Neil. You always get some the nicest planetary and lunar images! Clear skies, friend :)

They are really good Reggie. Very nicely processed with a lovely colour balance.

Thanks, Martyn. I've been making good use of the RGB balance in Registax 6, lol :)

Clear skies, my friend!

Still some nice detail Reggie, despite the humidity.

Thanks, Pete. I recently learned that the humidity actually stabilized the atmosphere and improved the seeing. I never thought about that, but the seeing was unusually good that night.😮

Imaging in the UK for 10+ years now, i still dont think i could predict what the seeing is going to be like before seeing the camera view. I just get out there as much as possible and hope i catch the good nights occasionally.
