Well i'm making some progress, had another go at fiddling about with the spacing, i also used the big bright moon to play around with the focus and ended up with this my 1st image with the Atik 314L+

Still got a way to go in figuring all this out and  what the best settings are for the Atik

I’m no lunar imager, but that looks like a really nice shot to me, l’m sure you will be impressed with 314’s capabilities once you can image some DSOs.
