IC447 - A Dim Reflection Nebula In Monoceros

Well, they warned me it was 'dim' and that is how it turned out to be! The Moon and flitting clouds didn't help but it made a nice change and a challenge to go for one of the lesser knowns! 16 subs of 600 secs., ED80m SXVF-M25C with WO 0.8 FR, guided.

Nice Steve, lovely colours.

I have plans to spend some time on that one with the SCT when I get round to it. I noticed it on this image http://stargazerslounge.com/index.php/topic,37507.0.html and Talitha pointed out what it was.

Mind you, after seeing todays APOD, it seems Monoceros is chock full of gorgeous nebs all over.

Oh that's an interesting target Steve and very well executed. I like these reflection nebs and have been planning and planning capturing M78 but the cloud has just refused to budge for the past month
