This is a capture of Venus this evenng with the UV filter.

I've just acquired a much-sought-after Howie Glatter Collimator from FLO, as I've read that this is about the only tool to properly collimate a Ritchey-Chretien. Unfortunately, I think it's been a case of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. The collimation was probably fine originally on the basis of my previous Venus captures, but being me I just had to fiddle with it, and think I've really messed it up as my captures just aren't as sharp as they were. Or maybe the seeing is just a bit poor right now, Anyway...

Captured with Baader U-Venus and IR filters, c. 20,000 frames for UV channel. 24ms exposures @ c. 40fps. Green channel made from 50% UV and 50% IR . 3x Televue Barlow, Omegon RC8 (effective focal length 4800) and a ZWO ASI 290MM Mini Mono camera.
