Star adventurer test 200mm f3.5 100sec

A quick test (PA needs more care!) with a SW Star Adventurer, Nikon 800E camera body with 200mm f3.5 lens, 800 iso for 100 seconds. This is a single frame from a series shot as a trial for the SW SA. Processed in Lightroom and Photoshop CS3.

M45 small stack 5x 100 second subs. Crop from 200mm f3.5 equipment as above.

Looks to be trackng well at the celestial equator, out of interest wht tripod are you mountin your SWA on? im looking at purchasing a SWA this year and ideally a sturdy portable tripod.

Hi Mark - It's on a beefy Manfrotto Photo tripod #028 (I think?) mounted direct to the tripod no pan-tilt head.

I was thinking of buying a Star Adventurer and was interested to see how well it tracks at around 200 mm ( 316 mm APSC crop size). I can manage 3mins unguided using my GP Photoguider with careful PA....
