Simple animation by NASA Scientists shows how slow light really is

Found this today. Thought it was a great demonstration on how slow light really is in the vastness of space.

Wow almost as mind blowing as the size of the universe are flexihexagons. I followed a link in that article. I might have to have a sit down and a think.

If the moon were only 1 pixel is also a good visualization of how slow the speed of light is. After you scroll one page to the right, hit the speed of light icon in the lower right corner, sit back and enjoy.

It puts it somewhat into context for me, and makes me think we are never ever going anywhere (apart from maybe Mars) anytime soon. Kind of frustrating to realize we will never travel around our universe and visit places (If Einstein has it figured out correctly).

The page I have oftennominatged as being the widest webpage on the internet (unless, of course, someone knows different!), but I had never noticed the speed of light button.
