NGC 7000 with SW ED72

First real chance to try this little scope out. Strapped to an HEQ5 with a canon 1000D. I used a SW field flattener but no guiding. The mount seemed to do OK with such a short focal length. 30 x 3 min subs.

Excellent work Trevor. For 3 min exposures the stars look very good to me. Well done!  Not sure if I’d get the same with my AVX unguided, but I’ve not tried much longer than a minute so far with my exposures.

Thanks Gus and Stu. It was just nice to set the kit up and leave it to its own devices. I didn’t have to bin any of the subs and the tracking was fine at this short focal length. Guilty of cheating a bit using TeamViewer to watch the images coming down to a laptop on the patio from a PC in the lounge. I must be getting older !

Yes the Avx will do far more than 3 mins unguided..really good PA and good balance is key..
