I was in N. Yorkshire yesterday evening. No moon visible despite a stunningly hot, dry week previously. What we did see were some spectacular lightning flashes (forked and sheet) and some very dark and threatening clouds.

Fortunately I was able to hide here:

What a difference a day makes!. Tonight has been perfectly clear instead of the previous wall to wall cloud. We actually had a re-run of the eclipse night, the Moon rose blood red due to murk in the atmosphere, very similar to the eclipse photos, we even had a great high pass of the ISS for good measure. The visitors were happy bunnies.  ?
