Jupiter! Jupiter! Jupiter!

Hi, all. Here is a trio of Jupiter images I've taken over the years beginning with the most recent on May 4, using my Orion 180mm Mak, Orion Electronic Imaging Cam, video images stacked in Registax 6 and  further processed in Photoshop:

From May 4, 2018:

From April 22, 2017 (using the Orion Deep Space Camera II, tweaked for planetary imaging). Notice the GRS and a Ganymede transit with shadow:

And finally, this image from September 5, 2010 featuring an Io transit:

Cheers to the Jupiter Opposition! :icescream:

Nice collection... I like the one from 2010 the most... but the one with the GRS and the shadow looks cool too.

Thanks, Mars. I like the naturalness of the 2010 image and the detail of the 2017 one. For me, it's a toss-up :icon_biggrin:

The smaller image has tighter detail and stronger contrast, sometimes happens in visual, too.

You're right, Ben. I also used a different camera for that image, the Orion Deep Space Video Camera II, which gives me more control over settings. I was pleasantly surprised to get the GRS so clearly.
