DSS 32 bit - "...is not a valid windows 32 bit program." !?!

I have just been going through all my image processing software, updating to the latest versions. I have got an old PC running XP.

I downloaded the latest 32 bit version of DSS and installed it without any problems. When I click on the icon to open the program however, I get an error message saying " C:/windows/programs/.../deepskystacker.exe is not a valid windows 32 bit program."?!?

Does anyone know of a solution to this problem? If not do you know where I can download an older version that will work? Unfortunately I uninstalled my old version before I checked the new version!

dss 32 bit is now superseded by dss 64 bit is now 4.1.0

Release notes say:

"This version of DeepskyStacker is supported on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 and completely supersedes DeepSkyStacker 3.3.2, 3.3.4 and 3.3.6"

Sounds like you'll have to reinstall 3.3.4 or 6

Version 4.1.0 is also available in 32 Bit.

Thanks Michael, the update was at the top of my previous installation, so I just clicked it & installed the 32 bit version. I didn't read the release notes!

Does anyone know where I can download version 3.3.6? The DSS site only has version 4.1.0 (32 bit & 64 bit) available for download.

Thanks for the link Michael. I did search for 3.3.6 but all I could find was 3.3.2 which I have installed. When I get on the laptop I will download from your link.

Now if I can only get my SSAG to work in Sharpcap 3.0 then I might be able to get a decent polar alignment! There's always something to do isn't there?
