New Astro Physics 92mm stowaway released

I was loaned one of the original Stowaways, optically it was probably the best I've yet used. It would soak up magnification without breaking down until the object got too dim to see.    ?

AP has just indicated that the first new Stowaways should be shipped out next week, so we should start seeing reports quite soon. I will be very interested to see how these stack up to say the Tak FC-100s.

I got the first one from Starlight Instrumens as I had another order from them and the second one traight from TS, which is best for you I assume

So, any first light in Europe so far ?

Not in Europe, but it has brought clouds to the mid-Atlantic coast of the US. Here it is on a Universal Astronomics Unistar Light Deluxe alt-az on a 5 series Gitzo tripod and on an Astro-Physics 400 GTO mount (cables not attached) on the AP wood tripod.

Edit: The focuser is on top on the UA mount only because I hadn't yet rotated the clamp 180 degrees and reversed the handle, then I could use it right side up without the handle bonking the focus knob.

I can't see this ending well, you know...

Stopped going through baggage inspection at the airport:

"Excuse me, sir.  Can you tell me what's in your case?"

"Oh, that's just my Stowaway."

Shortly followed by twelve hours wearing a paper suit and having bits of you inspected that even a doctor would think twice about.
