NGC5466 is pretty remote globular cluster in Bootes. This cluster has been discovered by William Herschel in 1784. It lies about 52,000 light years away both from Earth and from galactic centre. Unusual thing in this cluster is significant horizontal branch of blue stars, and that can be seen in the image. Most of globular clusters contain only few of blue objects.

I made this image at my backyard suburban observatory with Meade ACF 10" telescope, QHY163M camera and EQ6 mount. It is LRGB composite 20:18:12:15 frames, 2 minutes each one. Seeing was good, transparency medium, 1st quarter Moon present.
