Milkyway Through Perseus at Kelling Heath

This image was taken Saturday night at Kelling with my 400D on an Astrotrac mount. The exposure is 20 x 5 min @ISO800 stacked in DSS (with log sqr root curves applied), Pix Insight LE dynamic background extraction and finished in PSCS3 and Noels Actions. The image has M31 and M33 and M45 and the Double Cluster and California Nebula and other objects clearly visible

That is brilliant Kevin. You have certainly mastered Milky Way shots. I am amazed that you can get the California Neb with an unmodded camera.

Thanks Dave its an 1 hour 40 min exposure plus a lot of post processing to get the nebulae to stand out .

Dave the 20x5 mins will allow even unmodded cams to capture the Ha a modded cam would have cptured the same ammount in roughly 4x5..

Thanks guys I was very pleased how this one turned out. Even though it was supposed to be a 'Dark Site' there was quite a gradient from the bottom of the pic. To my mind Kelling seems to be getting worse in terms of LP.
