I'm very new and green when it comes to image processing/photographing the night sky. I barely know any of the terms or lingo, but I very much want to get involved!

Here's my question: What are flat, dark, and bias frames? How do you create these?

Thanks.

Dark.....image same length and temperature as the light exposure but camera capped off, no light getting to it.

Bias......shortest possible exposure the camera can do, same temperature as light frame, again capped off so no light can get to it.

Flat......shortest possible exposure of an evenly illuminated light source, usually less than a second but can be longer.
May need dark frames if longer than a second, these are dark flats.
