The day prior (Nov 30th) gave me a much better shot.  I live smack-dab in the middle of the Mojave Desert, so my "bad" seeing days are not what they are in other places.

We're in the winter months now here in the northern hemisphere, giving me a very low sun angle.

I'm not complaining though.  Some of the European imagers are much worse off in the winter months.
