Lovely sketch Shane. How long do the grains last? Just had a look and can't see it now, getting super detail when the seeing is good so would expect to see it if still there?

I can still see it and possibly another further toward the centre on the same edge. They show in the excellent image here. Look at these and see if you can see them. They seem to have some correlation in Ha too.

I was using about 90-110x

Ah, I think I may have seen that, although not sure. Was looking for something more round. I saw something similar in the other AR too which shows in that image.

My seeing was varying between atrocious and excellent so it was a matter of grabbing those fleeting moments. Amazing when it came good though

Would love to put the Tak and 120ED side by side. In theory I can't see the Tak's quality making up for 20mm of aperture in terms of resolution, but it is so much more compact I know I use it a lot more than I would a 120 and I reckon it gets pretty close

Yeah I agree. Every time I think about selling the 120ed I get jaw dropping reasons why I shouldn't.  That said a 100-128mm Tak would be the only reason I would.

Ps i did see them as more round at the eyepiece than in the pic but in the same place.
