Found it (Daytime Moon)

Earlier in the week I completely didn't notice our friend the Moon sitting in the afternoon sky! (sorry JF)

However yesterday afternoon I got my act together.

27 frames shot Raw with Canon 7D and Tamron 150-600mm @ 600mm, ISO 100, 1/200 f11 and 1/400 f8. converted to jpeg and stacked in AS2 to tiff, run through DXO11 and further converted to jpeg, border added in PSP9.

Not tweaked processing, simply because I'm very rusty.

1st pic, as is.

2nd pic with extra noise removal through Dfine2.

not sure which of the 2 I prefer.

I have to say they are both great images, i think i prefer the first image as the noise reduction on the second has given the Moon a much more "smooth" effect and has reduced some of the detail that is present in the first! But i like them both

Cant beat a daytime moon, I prefer the first one too.

Nice images. I would almost say a pixel-wise average would be the best: the first is a bit noisy, the second a bit too smooth. Always a difficult balance

Haha. Glad you hunted it down mate. I prefer v1. Define seems to lose a lot of colour detail in the smoother areas.
