Zoom Lens

Zoom EPs find a nice niche in solar observing - which is something I learned in SGL. ?

I have only the old TV 8-24 so cannot recommend any particular piece of kit. But I'm sure the usual rules apply - buy quality and you will cry only once ...

I mostly use a 8 - 24mm Zoom in my dedicated solar-scope, white-light observing only for me. I use either my Vixen LV Zoom, or my Baader Hyperion Zoom. But if I didn't happen to have those on hand in my kit - I'd get a Seben or any other inexpensive model. That would be quite adequate in my view. And for my view, too. :p

ALWAYS DOUBLE-CHECK YOUR FILTER(S) BEFORE VIEWING THE SUN! BE SAFE - NOT BLIND!

Is it worth getting a Zoom Lens for Solar obs.

I have a Lunt 60, so what would be the best zoom to go for. Would it be the Lunt?

Pentax XF zoom is a stunning solar performer. Shop around and you can get it at a good price, while some outlets charge 50% more. Leica ASPH also but that's very pricey.
