Hi folks , I'm very new to all of this , so I was delighted to find this forum, it's been a fantastic source of information and so friendly.

    I've managed to buy myself and the family an 8 inch dobsobian plus a few extra eye pieces from the classified section here. Such friendly helpful sellers.

     We finally had clear skies on the weekend so it was super awesome to see Jupiter and her 4 moons. Fantastic experience.

So I just wanted to say hi ?

The 8" Dobsonian Newt.  is the workhorse of the Amateur Observer,  and It will serve you very well.
Most guys here would recommend that you download a Planetarium programme called Stellarium,
which you will  find very useful for locating interesting targets for your observations. It is a Free Download.
just Google the name, and you find a link for the DL.
