Got home at 10.30 last night and noticed a break in the cloud. Got out the ED80 - moon very bright so observed that until it clouded over. Then found one of the clusters in Auriga, more cloud. Moved to mars - still a discernible disc. Up to Plaiedes - looking very good through the ED80 then total cloud. Back in by 11.00. Wouldn't try that with an SCT .
