Phillips 900 camera

Recommended Posts

Point it at the moon. You need to sort out the focus point first. It might be that you don't have enough in focus or need adaptors to get it further out from the focuser. The moon is big enough and bright enough to enable you to do that. Forget about stars until you know you are in focus.

Good luck.

Good advice here.

What targets were you going for? Webcams are best for bright objects such as planets and the Moon, especially at your Dob's focal length. I use SharpCap as capture software. FireCapture is very good too, but I'm still getting used to it!

If the lens is still on your Phillips 900, that may be your problem. You will have to take the lens of and use your telescope as lens for the webcam.

Second option is to use eyepiece projection, need an adapter for that, that can be attached to the cameralens and the yepiece. for example something like this: http://www.televue.com/pdf/literature/Eyepiece Projection Adapter.pdf
