A poor mans obsevatory - Phase one

Right Here is the problem....

I hate setting up my scope for DSO work, It takes ages to drift align

and get things right.

I want to permanently mount my scope and i don't ......

A - Have any room for a Roll off shed or a dome

B - Allowed sufficient funding as 'Her indoors' has higher

(and more sensible) Priorities....

So after much searching and thinking how to do it as cost efficiently as

and taking up the least room in the garden.

Enter my Two phase project.

Phase one to mount the wedge for my SCT in a permanent position.

Phase two (at a later date) to mount the scope in a mini observatory.

Job well done daddy....

Total out lay so far £60 approx.

A BIG :thumbright: Thnk you to MARCEL (user name COSMOS) on SGL without whome

i dont think the first phase would at all be possible.

Oh and little Gauis whose infinite questions helped pass the day.

Just rendering and drift aligning left and on to phase two...

Thanks for reading

Ed

Well done Ed, phase one looking good :thumbright: .

btw I'm looking at installing a pier in my garden and this certainly looks a very cost effective way of doing so, just a few questions, how deep did you dig the hole, how tall is the pier out of the ground and it's diameter ?.
