I spent most of Monday imaging with the QHY5P-11 mono and a Rowan astronomy tilt adaptor.

Mostly with limited success. I got rid of most of the NRs but the tilt needed was so extreme that half of the sun was out of focus. The camera has been returned & I will try another to see if it is a peculiarity of that chip - more in the near future.

I went back to the QHY5 colour to get at least one useable image as there was so much activity on the sun.

Here are the results, converted to greyscale in CS3 and inverted.

Thanks for looking

Keith

Thanks guys. I'm really struggling with the mono camera - resolution in the focussed bit was good - probably better than the colour converted, but the NRs are a proper pain. Can't even process them out!

Anyone know what the white blip is here?

It's on all my files from that day & I noticed a similar artifact on Michael Wilkinson's image from 29th
