Prom Fest - 7th August

A difficult day for imaging with poor seeing and high winds but rather that than clouds! Loads of proms on show and some new spots coming around too.

White light full disks shot this morning

Close-ups shot this afternoon by which time some new spots had peeked over the horizon

The chromosphere was dominated by proms. As per yesterday I left the PST on one of my mounts all days and had a peek every now and then to see what was going on. This image came later.

Then in Ca-K

Close-ups were tricky with the wind battering the big scope but these have come out ok

And then the proms in all their glory

Hopefully you all had as much fun as I did!

Super set David, those CaK proms are spectacular, wind was a problem here, the 152mm flaps around like a flag

Thanks Dave, the 120 isn't much better. I am giving some consideration to a smaller scope for windy days, maybe something like an ST102 or an ED80.
