Lesson 1, Ouch! best get the leg dressed to stop infection, you don`t want to become a one legged Astronomer  Lesson 2, place a padded cushion or similar on the floor under the scope, when changing optics imaging equipment etc, saves putting your leg in the way

The floor is padded - just as well! The only damage was to my leg!

Well at least it will heal up without hurting your bank account. The filter wheel would need financial help to heal.
