There are no spots currently on the Sun, confirmed by me today. Just in case you were unsure.

Couldn't even make out any faculae, the seeing was that bad and the high cloud kept obscuring the view.

It looks like we might have to increasingly get used to this view for a while, on the plus side there might be some bargain "White Light Herschel/Solar Wedges" for sale. Its a far cry from all the excitement of the Mercury transit a couple of months back!

Hadn't thought of that, I'll have to keep a look out. Every cloud and all that.
