Stars elongated in same direction

Hello,

What would you initially check if stars on a 5 minute sub are all slightly elongated in in direction. Actually they are all slightly stretched in this direction \ (i.e. in the direction of the slash). Does it suggest tracking ?

(This was 5 minutes guided)

If the stars are elongated across the WHOLE frame (middle as well) then this would suggest something other than spacing. To eliminate guiding as the issue, take a few short subs, maybe 4s tops. Have a look.... if the star elongation has gone, then guiding is one of the things to look at.

You need to look on Stellarium or similar to compare your image to see which way the drift is.

Sag or misalignment of the cam i.e not being square in the scope
