That is a really nice image. You can now see even more detail in the dust lanes. If taking the scope back enables you even better pictures in the end it will be a formidable combination, scope and mount.

I suppose "All good things come to those who wait". You can add to that "Persevere".

Good to see you getting some results with the 12" Chris, and very fine results they are too. Just doing this target myself as its been near the top of the must do's list for quite some time!!

That's certainly getting there now.

Like Sara I found the ODK pretty easy to use. (It was a 14 inch belonging to Yves.) It lived outside in the observatory and didn't suffer much focus drift. It held collimation for two years, from memory. I don't recall touching it fter the first time. The field was flat on a full frame, no question about that. We did add a baffle around the outside of the baffle tube when optical genius Ralf Ottow spotted that it would generate internal reflections as it was (he was right and the 'fix' worked.) So I think that a trip back to OO might solve your problems.
