The AVX is an improved version of the EQ5/CG5. If it is as good as the HEQ5 I don't know.

Have used both HEQ5 and AVX. Virtually nothing between them.

Hi

I have a 130pds and 60mm guidescope  on my avx with  a single counterweight - no problems! (I only got 1  counterweight with the avx) Tripod is sturdier than heq5 pro and adjustment mechanism is much better. It uses servos so a bit whiny, and balancing requires some thought. Can't use eqmod with it but I've not found that a big deal. The avx doesn't come with a polarscope but has ASPA with the hand controller. However, I drift align via PHD2 and platesolve to centre targets so don't use the hand controller as such.
