Brown
Tonight we went out for a meal to celebrate my wife's birthday, got home after a few beers and glasses of wine to a clear sky and decided to get my telescope out and look at the heavens, most nights I can see Andromeda and the Orion Nebula plus a few more amazing sights. Tonight as always when I can, I like to look at Jupiter and it's moons and it dawned on me Jupiter is my favourite thing to look at, it must be my age I am looking for an oblong monolith to appear or see Hal, it seems I just sit there waiting for something to happen. I have seen far to many sci-fi films, but I live in hope. I think I have had far to much to drink, time for bed good night!!!
Bart
I have also combined drink and astronomy, and have found them to be unsuitable bedfellows. Mind you, a couple of nice beers outside with the scope is one of life's pleasures
Paul73
I love a drink. I love astronomy. But, as with a good cocktail, they need carefull mixing.... My new year was spent with a cold beer and the Orion Nebula. Superb! I follow the very simple rule that; if I am too fuzzie to find the fuzzies, then call it a night. scarp15
I certainly wasn't drunk, but I did enjoy eyeballing Jupiter on my walk home from the pub on Friday evening. Three pints of Workie Ticket and strong winds put paid to any incentive to get the scope out.
