25% waxing crescent moon from late last week

Whilst waiting for the sky to get dark enough to move the scope to DSO imaging last Thursday, I grabbed the chance to image the moon at 25% illumination. Always fascinated by the changing views which come with the difference phases.

Stacked the best 52 frames from several hundred in AS2 and then sharpened up in Pixinsight.

Yet to get the webcam set up to do this via the Movie route which many advise.

Roll on more clear skies,

That's lovely and sharp with good detail, especially for jpg files. If you shoot/process RAW files they should give a sharper result still.

I'll give Raw a go next time. As the exposure time is very short, I can run off a few of both and compare. Also want to try with a web cam to get an idea of how to use that before I have a crack at Jupiter later in the year when it's up at the same time as me!!
