They can be a pest around here too - not far from Manchester Airport. Under some atmospheric conditions they just don't disperse and hang around for ages, eventually messing up the entire visible sky. With a moon in the sky you can just forget imaging completely when that happens.

Funny thing I went to cuba for 2 weeks in august in the entire 2 weeks I didn't see one jet or any other aircraft fly over day or night for 2 weeks not one contrails mad. I did see the milky way for the first time though when the power was cut for half hour ☺

Well the contrails have gone, to be replaced by nine tenths cloud.

Given up, watching the All Blacks trash Namibia.

Thats a lot of cloud, although clouds are measured in Oktas, which is an eighth!

And have you read the theories that these are Chemical trails, caused by a US Gov. secret program?
