Cygnus. No meteors but the Caped Crusader!

Hi all,

I attemped to capture some meteors on Monday night. I set my Canon 700d with the lens set at 18mm on to my mount and tracked it for a few hours, taking 1 minute exposures. Unfortunately, most of the frames were clouded out and I only managed 39 minutes-worth, with no meteors.

So here's the grainy result. Vega at the top, Deneb centre left and Altair bottom right.

My non-astro brother-in-law pointed out that the dust lanes look uncannily like Gotham City's Batman alarm light! I had a play in Photoshop. He's right, you know!

Nicely done...

I had an epic fail with my effort last night... Must have knocked the setup and put the PA out by enough so that there's trailing but not enough to make a decent startrail instead...

Nice image of the bat signal. I saw a few meteors on Monday night before the clouds rolled in. Just have to keep fingers crossed for the peak tonight. Thanks for posting.
