My copy of "Making every photon count" arrived via Royal Mail yesterday.  My first Royal Mail ! Not sure if the mailman was annoyed he had to drive all the way up to my house to sign for it or perhaps he feels Im cheating on him.   Probably just still upset over Lance Armstrong, regardless he couldn't sway my giddiness.

Cloud cover is about, so last night was a good time to begin reading.  After reading the first third and finding out I spent my money on the wrong equipment and doing many other things wrong, the book seemed to go out of its way not to make me feel like a complete moron and can still use what I have to take some great images (possibly).  Only a third of the way through.  I was about to call it a night when I saw moon light coming through the windows.  Still trying for my first galaxy image, thought maybe I could get it.  Ran outside, (Mt. Lion or no Mt. Lion), with tripod, a6000, Sony FE 200mm lens, started star jumping around, couldn't find Andromeda, finally think I got it and clouds rolled back in.

Undeterred, the moon was looking interesting behind the clouds so took a few images.  Didn't change any settings from focusing on stars, just started shooting the moon.  Ended up with a cool moon reflection, tree cloud and  smoke machine effect clouds.  Looking forward to reading another third tonight.
