Last astroscape of the spring 2015 season

The astro season has come to an end for me since the bright nights of summer are here. I thought I´d post one of the last images I took before the darkness was gone. Being a landscape photographer I just can´t resist these Milky Way astroscapes

I took the chance to head down to lake Vättern, at a place about 5 minutes from where I live. This was one of the better shots of that night. Faint aurora (purple) and some lightpolluted clouds far away gave great colour to contrast the Milky Way.

This was taken with a Canon 5D mkII with a Samyang (Rokinon) 14mm lens @ f/3.5
I have used two exposures. One for the sky, using my AstroTrac, and one for the foreground (without tracking). Exposure time 90 seconds at ISO 3200.

I usually try to keep a natural look to my images but here I enhanced the MW a little bit more than usual for some extra impact.

Thank you! It was a beautiful night down by the lake and knowing that it was probably the last night of the season made it even more special.

Very nice. How much could you see the milky way with your naked eye?

Well, that's hard to describe... I could see it clearly but not really the structures. I think this is about Bortle 5, bordering on Bortle 4.
