Will I fit the whole sun in field of view ED80 and Atik460EX with 0.85FR?

Debating whether to switch over to DSLR on my ED80 or leave the Atik on.

(Obviously with my FLO bought solar filter)

I've gone on to the Sky at Night FOV calculator and it seems to fit comfortably without a focal reducer which I cant quite fathom as I was sure it would be much bigger on screen than moon images I have created with the Canon 1100D?!

Doing it the hard way:

The Sun is at most about 32 arcminutes or 1920 arcseconds across.

The focal length of the ED80 is 600mm.

The image scale (without the FR) is 206265 / 600 = 344 arcseconds/mm

The image of the Sun on the sensor will therefore be 1920/344 = 5.6mm across

The 460EX sensor is 12.5mm x 10mm (near enough) so it will fit easily even without the FR, just as Freddie says.
