Prom from the Weekend

Hi folks,

A few shots from the weekend. I think it's the same prom, about 24hrs apart. I was very lucky to catch the Sun on both days over the weekend, considering the forecast and wind speed predictions!

Tele Vue 85, Quark Chromosphere, Grasshopper 3 camera (ICX687), 0.5x reducer

I used my 85mm scope as it was windy, and I really enjoyed using it. I think maybe I will use the 85 instead of my 120mm scope over winter in future, and leave the 120 for when the Sun gets higher in the sky.

It also feels like the 85 needs less time to "get going." My 120 seems to lack contrast and sharpness early on. Could be it's just the seeing, but there seems to have been a pattern there over winter. Don't know if it's something to do with the cold air and scope warming up or whatever it needs to do?

Fantastic as ever Luke! I'm going slightly against opinion here as I really like the colour image from Saturday. Definitely has a 'Danny Boyle's Sunshine' look about it
