Hello and welcome.

I would say all the advice is relevant, but I would also suggest going to a local Astronomy Society meeting before parting with any money. You never know exactly what you will find out and it may save you a lot of money or possibly buying the wrong equipment to start with. Local societies usually have a plethora of different interests shown by their members. You may find that initial ideas are not quite what you eventually want. Most of us over the years will say something similar. We often find the initial thoughts are changed by reading further and by looking and talking to society members. You will most likely get the chance to view their equipment and possibly view the night skies as well, their advice may be crucial in your eventual choices.

Whatever you do take you time and enjoy the hobby.

Derek
