A plage?

Oh dear, quality is poor due to haze rolling in, but can someone tell me if the light area under the large spot is a plage? It appeared quite suddenly, and changed in minutes.

That's great, thanks!  I was hoping it might be a flare but didn't want to make a rookie mistake of thinking anything bright must be one. It appeared at 14.34 UK time, or at least that's when I first saw it:
