Dew was bad tonight

Was out since seven this evening.  Kept hazing over but beggars can't be choosers.....  Really heavy due tonight I thought?  All my kit was dripping saturated to the point I had to give up so just come in.  Fortunately it was hazing over badly so I don't feel robbed

I thought it was worse last night but yes - still dewey tonight. Contrails were very apparent where I am (and ruined an otherwise clear sky), I don't know what that means, cold upper atmosphere or what?

Exactly the same were I am in east anglia.

Nipped out with my WO66 on Porta II and the air was just sopping wet! it also mostly clouded over before long so I didn't bother getting too comfy at the eyepiece.

I usually look at my car windscreen, when the dew on it turns to hard frost then maybe it's time to come in.

Yep, same here. Had some nice views earlier on but very heavy dew, and now quite thick mist.

Was below freezing too, really must change out of my shorts now!

Last night excellent, tonight rubbish, can't expect two nights running I suppose, went out for a while but thick fog and frost now.

Yeah, dew was pretty heavy and had turned to frost by the time I gave up fighting the contrails at about 9.30.

Yes the contrails were dreadful as well.

I only have one 3" scope Dew Band and that went around the FSQ but guiding was rubbish with the guidescope keep dewing over.  Normally one Band does the job but it did not last night - I bought the scope in and left it vertical whilst drying out (after wiping all external surfaces).

Even here we get such nights. The air itself is just wet through. It doesn't last but it can be like that on the first clear night after a rainy spell.
