AR 2192 is lurking......returns in the next 48hours

Let's see.....I just got a new solar-filter in. And located my Baader Continuum-Filter. Have my MallinCam set up. Software readied.....And it's turned ice-cold and raining.

Given all the things I lined-up - I'm doomed. I probably should buy a boat for the up & coming flood I've unleashed.

It's just stopped raining here but I see some blue, I think I will have to force the issue today but hopefully the rain has washed away the seeing.

I'm getting my H alpha gear set up just in case, the blue stuff is starting to dominate the horizon. (Fingers crossed)

Nice one, Tony, I caught an earlier view of it online (clouds, clouds, clouds!) and thought then that it was two decent-sized spots turning the bend. But looks like it is one big one, with a big island in the middle

Well I was well wrong in thinking it would be still alive and well, I had better leave it too the experts next time

Lovely shot, Jarrod! I managed a quick look      Okay, so it's not one huge spot, but that's an awesome penumbra, the new region is dwarfing the others currently on show, super faculae around the AR, and hey, it made it round

And if it's cloudy tomorrow, I won't feel quite so bad   Typical that I was on hols for the previous lap, biggest sunspot for twenty years, ho hum...

Had a brief view in Ha this afternoon, despite the Sun being low and poor seeing the new spots looked large and very black.

The wind and the seeing has defeated me so far today. Absolutely impossible to achieve focus. If it settles down in the next hour I will try again but it is really awful right now.

It just popped off an M3 flare, I had the Ha scope set up as it's more forgiving in poor conditions.
