This one is from the 30th Nov 2013, I think it was 16 X 600s with an Ascension 80mm Apo triplet and an Atik 428 EXC taken from my well lit back garden, no dark skies here I am afraid.

Well, I think Alnitak is not half bad myself since it's partially resolved as a double and this is not always the case by any means. Nice blue colour in 2023. That can't be taken for granted either. There are some green/blue-ish happenings in the Flame which are unfamiliar but maybe that's just because I have never caught them myself! (Some old gimmer may be discussing this imaging project in Astronomy Now at some point in the future...)

This target was one of my first CCD images and it thrilled me to bits, despite being nowhere near as good as this.

Many thanks to all and for your kind words. If the weather improves I'd like to re-visit all the targets around Orion's belt or a super widfield of the belt too.

Agree with Olly & Gina, Alnitak doesn't look too bad at all, it is tricky to keep it under control.
