Superb sunspot 19/10/14

Many of our group managed to see this amazing spot yesterday and today but I suspected I was going to miss out as it had been pretty much cloudy all day. However, thankfully I got about 10 seconds of a view (first sketch resulted from this below) and then an extended period of half an hour or so a little later. Really stunning detail visible even at 45x with the 80mm frac and Lunt wedge. All the detail seen in these sketches were at this magnification. I hope everyone gets to see this as it's a belter.

very nice sketches mate, you have captured some very nice detail. love the close sketch a great potrait of what was visible today! there really was something for everyone between the clouds today. several active regions/sunspots, one very large active prom and several very nice groups as well.

Really good sketches Shane, glad you got to see it. It's an incredible AR isn't it? Managed a few quick views today and hope to have more over the next few days. May have to take the scope to work!
