Clear Sky

Hi 

Got the makings of a clear night. Gonna take Father in-law out to star gaze. What should I show him?  

orion Nebula, Moon, Mars, Jupiter. Any other good views?

I think star with Jupiter and then Orion...for somebody who never looked into a telescope before they'll be mind blowing

Sounds like a plan. I remember seeing the Moon for the first time through a telescope, and then earlier this year Orion Nebula.

I actually showed my father-in-law the moon through my previous 200P...he couldn't believe he was actually looking at the moon. Ah well, at least he longer thinks his daughter's husband is the not the weirdo he thought I was...wait until he sees my other weird stuff, he'll think his daughter married a grey alien...!!

Leave the Moon 'til last , it's nigh on full and will ruin your dark-adaption if you view it first ...

Was a beautiful night, moon was very bright. Orion was lower than the roof of the house but did spend some time on Jupiter, lovely, and as for the moon, beautiful. Took some pictures with zoom lens wedged against a garden fence post. I have to upload them.
