Jupiter dark grey patches

Just come in from observing Jupiter. Seeing was dreadful, so image results were very poor. I could make out 2 smudges and was wondering what they were. Has anyone taken some images in better seeing? Ill post my image for reference. Not my finest hour tonight though!!

possible transits or the GRS, can be hard to tell in poor conditions
not been out so haven't checked to see whats going on recently

I was able to watch Io's shadow move across the face... a small black dot as in the pic posted earlier.

Then saw Io leave the edge of Jupiter at 22:40... shadow still about half way across.

Magic!

Thanks guys. I am not sure if it was the GRS or a transit. Here is the best image I managed in the merk that was last night.

I don't see Io's shadow...that was a tin sharp black spot.

Looks like you might have the GRS there.

it just looks like the darker areas between the equatorial belts to me, very nice image by the way as well!
