Supernova M82 animation

The animation below has 6 days of  image stacks of the M82 supernova, (alas not concurrent nor evenly spaced days thanks to the appalling weather!). 

Each profile was scaled relative to a nearby star. It is sufficient to show the nova brightening up to the 2nd Feb and then dimming down. There are spectral changes too, especially between 500 to 550 nm. A high level summary of what's actually going on would be most welcome.

Brilliant animation John, must have a go at that. Did you use the same exposure for each night?. Most of mine have been 300secs apart from the last evenings which was 200s. due to mixed cloud etc!

The exposure times were dictated with what I could get away with, normally stacks of 30 seconds unguided due to adverse weather and wind.

I have updated the images with data for the 13th Feb. 7 days worth, still fading.

I have had a frustrating night with the cloud coming and going but hope to get 1 good spectrum .
