Red Sellotape for making car lights astro friendly?

I'm looking for a roll of red Sellotape or similar to make my estate car astro friendly when out and about or at star parties. Just over interior lights so I can keep bits in there and still see really

Something that will stick but not mark my interior or be a pain to get off.

Anyone know of such a product?

Just use red electrical insulating tape, clean and easy to apply and remove when not needed.

That's how we modify torches etc, so I am sure will work OK for car interior lights.

Yes it dims it nicely as well.

I have disabled all my interior lights - much safer this way

You can get sheets of red cellophane from Ryman or online. Might be easier to use that to cover larger lights....

You can get rolls of red tape for repairing car lights in Halfords.

Use red spotlight gels available online or your Maplins. Put it inside the lens of the light and take it out when you get home.

I swapped out all the interior lights for red LED and forgot about the 2 bulbs in the boot. 2 x 42mm festoon and 4 x 512 for the foot well and maplights cost less than £10.

Just off to order 2 for the boot now

I'm sure you can get red bulbs for interior lights, I once changed all mine to blue in my boy racer Phase of life I'm pretty confident they do them in red and green also

Ok,, but what if we use the black tape??

As if some of my friends suggested me to use black and now after reading the post I'm confused so can anyone suggest me something good and usable tape??

If it's opaque black tape you won't get any light coming through at all and won't see where your going, transparent red film should do the trick

i replaced all my interior lights with red led,s including the boot area, cost me less than a tenner
