Some widefields from Kielder Autumn 2013

Here's a follow up to Kielder Autumn 2013 in images where most nights were clear despite weather forecast for the week!
 
All taken using a standard  Pentax K5 with  Pentax 12-24mm f4 DA ED AL IF Lens at f4.5 and 13-15 sec exposures at either 3200iso ...or 6400iso.

Indeed that is your setup ...and yourself trailing the red aura behind....between Kielder and Galloway it was a great couple of weeks!

That blue/purple colour in the first photo is perfect.

These are great and I would say they give a reasonable impression of what the sky looked like to the naked eye. So anyone who is wondering what a dark site is like then these give a good idea.

Captures the atmosphere really well. Because of that miss-leading weather forcast, I decided to only take my binoculars, however I still enjoyed several hours during the early hours of Saturday morning panning the sky for many targets.

Very nice images Mike,  I only came with binos this time and had a great time just looking rather than imaging.

Was great to say hello and see the familiar faces.

Mark ...good to see you at Kielder again, sometimes good to stand back and appreciate the night sky with binos.

Note

My monitor is colour calibrated with the printer profile and processed as adobe RGB, images look lighter on my monitor and when printed ...but look darker on the boards here where sRGB would appear less dense/saturated...also jpeg compression when re-sizing makes them slightly noisy.
